Hi!

thanks for the comment on my blog!

How funny, abou the last names! I'm very sure that when you dig into the roots of your family tree you'll much likely find some European influences. Especially the 'vander' part is very Dutch/Belgian. My name is found around the world too. There also are a lot of different variations, such as 'van der wilt', 'van der wild', 'de wild', 'de wilde', and so on. Yours might well be a variation on any for those names!

Snow is getting rare in the Netherlands, we have snow 3-4 days a year, and that's when we're lucky! 3-4 months a year makes cycling a little hard! But I do believe it would be good for the US to adobt the habbit, there are parts in the US where I'm sure the enviroment is very good for cycling!

EFF is the Elf Fantasy Fair. It's an anual fantasy event that lasts two days. People dress up like fantasy creatures such as fairies, pixies and wizards. Or they dress in their normall clothic, it's up to you.
The fun of the fair is the oppertunity to watch people shamelessly, buy stuff in the various market stands, meet writers and other artists and listen to music.
The castle is not in Amsterdam, but it's not far from the city. It's called 'Kasteel De Haar' and you can find it in the village 'Haarzuilens'. It;s such a lovely builing, and the gardens around it are so pretty!

I'm now off to view your China blogg!

Love, Linda!
